Graded Unit Plan
For my Graded Unit I am going to design and produce a website to be used as a portfolio of all the work I have completed during my year at Perth College studying the HNC Sound Production course. I am going to split up my graded unit into six sections: Home, About Me, Modules, Projects, Graded Unit and a Contact section. The website that I am going to use to design and create my graded unit will be wix.com as it is free and easy to use.
In the Home section I am going to include a brief paragraph explaining what I am studying, what the course is about and why I am producing the graded unit. I will also include a few pictures to make it look a bit more exciting.
The next section I will include is the About Me part. This part will explain a bit about my experience so far within the music industry and audio industry. Also it will explain what my aspirations are for my future within sound production. It will also explain a bit about how I enjoyed the course and what part of the industry I would like to focus on most. It will also include all the qualifications I hold, previous education and current employers, skills and any work experience I have with the audio side of work.
The next part is the Modules section. This will include each module I have done/currently doing at college. The modules will be Acoustics 1, Audio for Multimedia, Creative Industries Infrastructure, Digital Audio Workstations, Sound Production Practice 1, Sound Production Theory 1, Sound Production: Graded Unit 1, Sound Production: Multi-track Mixing, Sound Production: Multi-track Recording, Sound Production: Sound Re-inforcement 1, Working in the Creative Industries. Then under each one I will go into detail on what the course is about, what units I have to do and an explanation of what I need to do to pass them. I will also include pictures and examples of pieces of work I have produced to help me pass each unit.
The projects section will include all the projects I have done within the course. I will include a couple of DAW songs that I have created in college using Cubase and some remixes of the Shaking Through songs that I have done at home on pro tools and also at college on Cubase. It will also include the sci-fi video and the other self-chosen video that I had to put audio to in the Audio for Multimedia class. This section will include songs that I have recorded at the college for my multi-track recording and mixing classes and outwith class times.
The Graded Unit section will explain what the graded unit is about and will have on it links to my graded unit plan, the Gantt chart, swot analysis and the evaluation.
The final section will be the contact section in which I will give my personal and contact details for any potential employers wanting to get in contact with me.
