About Me
For the past three years I have been actively learning and forming a passion for sound engineering. My interest for sound engineering stemmed from my passion of drumming from a young age. I received drum lessons from a local tutor for around four years and with him progressed up to grade eight level. My participation in music within school and in a band has inspired me to become more involved in the creative technology industry.
For the past four years I have been performing on drums as a member of an energetic pop-punk band named Fire In Effect. Through the band, I have gained a great deal of confidence and have learned how to work effectively within a group. I have expanded upon my school knowledge and have had further insight into the way a music studio operates by being involved in the recording process. As part of the band I have taken part in several competitions during which we became ranked within the top 300 bands in the UK, and were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to perform with artists such as The Proclaimers and Newton Faulkner in venues such as The Edinburgh Corn Exchange and The Journal Tyne Theatre in Newcastle.
I started my HNC at Perth College in September 2013 and loved and enjoyed every minute of it. I look to continue onto the Degree Year 2 course at Perth next year to gain more experience and develop my sound design and studio skills.
Further down the line into my career, I would like to be working as a Sound Designer for film, TV or games. I would preferably like to be working on either game sound design or film, both of which I find very interesting.
